Hunter Wellies
Hunter Boots Ltd started out in Scotland 150 years ago as the North British Rubber Company. Founded by an American entrepreneur, Henry Lee Norris, the company began with only four employees. Now famous around the world, Hunter Boots are legendary for being hard-wearing, comfortable and easy to pull on and off. The Hunter Boots as we know today, were developed in 1955 with the advent of the original Green wellington which is still part of Hunter’s range. Launched alongside the Green wellington was the Royal Hunter which is also still in production and an incredibly popular part of the Hunter range of boots.
Hunter were awarded the Royal warrant by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh in 1977 with a second Royal warrant from HRH the Queen following in 1986. Hunter are loved by people who love the outdoors, from farmers to game keepers, to the Royal Family. In recent years the unmistakable Hunter wellies have become something of an icon and thanks to their classic styling they look good almost anywhere.
Hunter Original boots are perhaps the best known boots in the Hunter range. At the time that it was first launched, the Original revolutionised the wellington boot industry. Famous for it’s excellent fit and comfort, the Original looks good whether walking the dog or shopping in town. The legendary ‘Hunter fit’ is thanks to the orthopaedic sole, unique to Hunter wellies. Available in an incredible range of colours, it’s the perfect general use wellie.
Made from a heavier duty rubber than the Hunter Original, the Hunter Balmoral has been designed with the sporting enthusiast in mind. A technical boot with more ‘rugged’ styling, boots in the Balmoral range have a leather-look finish, a more contoured leg incorporating adjustable straps for a slimmer fit and a heavy duty sole designed to give excellent traction and grip. Designed to look good on both men and women yet incredibly heavy duty, Balmoral boots will give countless years of service.
Boasting all the great features of the Orginal and Balmoral, the Balmoral Neoprene provides excellent insulation and comfort thanks to it’s neoprene lining and padded neoprene insole. Neoprene offers outstanding fit and protection from the elements, making these boots the last word in outdoor footwear. Two sets of Neoprene insoles, a set that is 3mm thick and an additional 6mm set, offer the wearer a choice of insoles for use in different weather conditions.
The Hunter Leather Hawksworth boot offers an unbeatable combination of classic Hunter styling and superb protection. Manufactured from high-quality tumbled, full-grain leathers with a moulded outer sole constructed from light-weight Phylon, the Hawksworth is suitable for any conditions. Breathable protection and insulation is provided thanks to the Sympatex lining. Hawksworth boots come with a selection of two sets of insoles; a 3mm pair and a 6mm pair allowing the wearer to adjust absorption and fit.
