Barbour Jackets
Founded in 1894, Barbour is one of the iconic brands in the British fashion industry. With a reputation for making high-quality, functional yet stylish outdoor clothing, Barbour is still a family owned business, based in South Shields where the company was founded five generations ago. Barbour started out in the fashion industry manufacturing hard-wearing, waterproof clothing and the company’s reputation began to grow in the ‘30s when they developed ranges of motorcycle clothing and suits designed to be worn submariners.
It’s jackets and outdoor clothing for which Barbour are now world famous. Their waxed jackets are still produced in South Shields and their Barbour Classic waxed jackets have become a trademark in outdoor clothing. Despite the fact that Barbour is now an international brand, the company has remained true to its roots and has managed to retain it’s core values when creating unique, hard-wearing but stylish clothing. In 1982 Barbour received a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty the Queen and in recent years Barbour have gone from strength to strength, earning the company a place in British fashion history.
Barbour now manufacture clothing ranges for men, women and children, with products including knitwear, shirts, trousers, footwear and accessories. Barbour jackets are still incredibly sought after and it’s easy to see why.
Barbour quilted jackets have proved staggeringly popular over the last couple of years, becoming something of an icon themselves and it’s easy to see why. Offering style with warmth, elegance and comfort, the Grace Polarquilt jacket is extremely versatile and from the Barbour ladies quilt jackets range. Manufactured in Barbour’s signature polarquilt combination with a versatile detachable hood, it’s available in stunning range of colours, including olive, stone, navy and black.
Waxed jackets are, of course, Barbour’s trademark garments. Some of their ranges introduced over the last couple of years have become truly sought after Barbour jackets women love to wear. The Barbour Rebel jacket is a classic example. Designed with a nod to Barbour’s motorcycling roots, the Rebel looks incredibly stylish in both town and country. Manufactured from Barbour 6oz Sylkoil waxed fabric, the Rebel jacket is both completely waterproof and thermal, available in elegant black or rustic colourways.
The Barbour Liberty Beadnall jacket is another very versatile Barbour waxed jacket from their Women’s Classic Collection. Perhaps their most iconic style of waxed jacket, the Liberty Beadnall is manufactured from Barbour Sylkoil waxed fabric with a traditional Liberty print cotton lining. The Liberty Beadnall’s versatility is all thanks to the interactive zip in liner system, detachable hood and faux fur collar, making it indispensable in all climates.
